The ranking is the world’s largest annual study of workplace excellence and identifies the top 25 best multinationals in terms of workplace culture.

Diageo is the only FMCG company to make it into the top ten at number 8, gaining three places from last year’s 11th place ranking, its highest yet. This is the third consecutive year that Diageo has appeared on the list and it continues to be the highest rated Europe-based company in the ranking.
Leanne Wood, HR Director, Diageo commented:

“We are delighted to be recognised as one of the top 25 multinational places to work for the third year running. Our people are the heart of our business and Diageo is committed to creating an inclusive culture based on freedom and trust in which our employees can thrive. This award also reflects the work of thousands of our inspirational employees across the 180 markets in which we operate, who together make Diageo a great place to work”

China Gorman, CEO, Great Place to Work® commented on why Diageo was included on the 2013 ranking:

“Companies that appear on the World’s Best Multinational Workplaces list are companies that excel in the areas of trust, pride and camaraderie. In addition to this, Diageo received outstanding results in the Fairness metric, which is measured through balanced rewards, impartiality in hiring and promotions and justice by avoiding discrimination. This is particularly remarkable as it is the category which usually sees the lowest scores. Given these results are global; it is very impressive to see the culture of Diageo score so highly across these three metrics.”

Diageo has received the Great Place to Work distinction in 10 markets where it does business, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Germany, Greece, Ireland (2), Mexico, Spain and Venezuela.

Since launching the first best workplaces lists in partnership with FORTUNE magazine in the United States and Exame in Brazil in 1997, Great Place to Work® now recognises leading workplaces in nearly 50 countries. The World’s Best Multinational Workplace list is based on a pool of data from some 2,900 companies that were listed on Great Place to Work® country lists. Every year, Great Place to Work® analyses data from surveys taken by more than 5 million employees and workplace culture analytics taken from 7,200 companies, which represent more than 16 million employees.
